Debut album by Matthew Kohnle (Daybed, Hat City Intuitive, Darling).  The record,
performed and written By Matthew Kohnle himself (as well as engineered), is a document
of 2 years spent making the most of isolation.   The record has an early seventies type of
sensibility, in respect to it's often subdued nature, yet retains quite a bit of both aggression
and free playing.  Think music along the lines of Jim O'Rourke's "pop" records, with
references varied and far flung from Tropicalia, Psych Pop, the odd classic rock FM radio
hit, and maybe even a hint of Prog.  While not a "Singer/Songwriter" record in the sense of
just a fella w/ acoustic guitar, it is a "Singer/Songwriter" record in the sense that David
Bowie's "Hunky Dory", or Bill Fay's "S/T" album is.

"I feel it's more of a record that a producer (in the older, "hands on" sense of the word) might make.
There is a good deal of variety to the tracks, and some sonic indulgences because of a great interest in the
studio process, but hopefully never at the expense of the song.  It's definitely the product of one man’s
imagination, as opposed to being a "document" of a band playing live... some of it was recorded at different
times of night, and I think you can almost feel that sense of '2 am, w/ slippers on' type of production..."
-Matt Kohnle (The Swede)
As procrastinated-on as this record has been (most people who where even aware of it's
supposed release, likely had side bets going that it would never see the light of day), it
retains a solid feel throughout, opting not to overstuff itself with filler, or instrumental red
herrings, despite the amount of material recorded over the long gestation period.

"It was important to make a record that felt right, not feel pressured to get everything on it.  There was
probably enough songs for 2 or maybe 3 records recorded in some form over the last two years, but it was
more a matter of 'do they fit', in regards to production or lyrics even.  There are songs that I felt I grew out
of over the last few years... But also a big hold up at times is the self defeating nature that comes into
play... A big part of this record is just getting it out there and moving on... I am really looking forward to
working on another one, and getting it done much quicker, to say the least"
